LEARNING THROUGH THE “WHEELS”
Dear Families,
As you may know, this is the first year that Primary 3 students are learning English through the “Espais d’aprenentatge” methodology. While they have been using this approach in other subjects, this is the first time it has been applied to English.
Today, we would like to provide you with more information about this methodology and share some of the “challenges” we have completed so far.
How are we learning English through the “Learning Wheel”?
In the first session of each “Wheel,” the teacher introduces the main content and theory we need to understand in order to complete the challenges.
After this initial session, we work on two different challenges (or espais) in each session. Once we have completed all the challenges, we finish with a review activity.
These challenges are designed to help us learn English in an autonomous, hands-on, and enjoyable way. Each activity is carefully structured with specific supports and scaffolding to enable us to work as independently as possible, empowering us to take an active role in our own learning process. As mentioned earlier, each session focuses on two challenges related to the main topics of the Wheel. Each challenge, however, emphasizes different skills.
As you can see in the pictures, some challenges require us to ask and answer questions to complete a task, helping us develop our listening and speaking skills. Others involve writing descriptive texts and creating drawings based on the information in the text, which strengthens our reading and writing abilities. Additionally, there are challenges where we use computers, which enhance our digital competencies.
In summary, Primary 3 students are thoroughly enjoying the Learning Wheels and are doing an amazing job with all the challenges!
Arts & Craft in English
Last term in Arts & Crafts in English, we explored creativity through the Surrealism.
In the final session, our students also presented their artworks.

Aquesta llengua estrangera, s’introdueix a cicle inicial a partir d’una immersió activa amb contes, cançons tradicionals, jocs i petites dramatitzacions.
Més endavant, a cicle mitjà i superior, seguim treballant a partir de rodes d’espais d’aprenentatge, per desenvolupar les competències oral i escrita tenint en compte diferents situacions i atenent a diferents necessitats, per aprendre a expressar opinions i concepcions personals de manera crítica i significativa.
